I
have had an intense love for music all of my life. Especially
light and accoustic rock, and accoustic blues music. It was only
in the past decade that this love of music has developed into
playing, writting and recording. I have built a home studio to
enable me to make full use of this passion and I am now beginning
to combine my music with video. My studio, while not a
professional set up, it is none the less well equipped as far as
home studios go with a nice range of microphones, a t.c.
electronics multiband compressor, various effects units, a GA Pre
73 pre amp and a dbx 376 channel strip. For ears I use a pair of
Bheringer Truth B2031A nearfield monitors. Keyboards are added
with a Technics KN400 or an M-Audio Keyrig 49 for midi parts.
I
use a Les Paul Studio electric guitar, a Takamine D series
acoustic, a Martinez acoustic and an Ashton Bass rounds out the
instruments. Running
the latest version of Cubase as my DAW I have a large range of
quality plugins to enhance my sound. I recommend waves plugins as
the sound they produce is truly outstanding. Midi instruments come
from a wide variety of sources such as Native Instruments,
Steinberg, Sonivox, Uerbeschell and Toontrack to name a few.
Almost
all of my writting and recording is done as a soloist though I do
have friends join me for selected tracks. If you want to catch me
perform I will be appearing regularly at the newly formed
unplugged sessions at kiwi paka in Rotorua, New Zealand. Cheers Allan.
